Karen J. Brandt began working as an administrative law judge (ALJ) with the Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) in July 2005. Since August 2011, she has been the Presiding Administrative Law Judge for OAH’s Sacramento General Jurisdiction Division. Before becoming an ALJ, she worked as Staff Counsel for the State Personnel Board for eight years. Prior to that, she worked as both in-house counsel and in private practice. She is a 1979 graduate of Harvard Law School.
