Sacramento Superior Court Judge David F. De Alba was appointed to the Sacramento County bench by Governor Gray David in 2001. Prior to that, he accepted a position as a Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice in 1979 and worked in criminal and legal divisions of the office. He specialized in criminal appeals, complex tort litigation and law enforcement policy; from 1999 to 2001, he served as Special Assistant to Attorney General Bill Lockyer. He is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley and received his law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
