Salter, expert witness and litigation support counsel, with Inventive Patent Law P.C. will address legal issues surrounding the rights of ownership of patents, trade secrets, trade dress, service marks or trademarks, and the legal or illegal use of this property. Mr. Salter will discuss a significant U.S. Supreme Court decision from June 2014 (Alice Corp. v. CLS Bank) that affects the scope of the patent eligibility of computer software.

The techniques are grounded in Matthew Butterick's groundbreaking book Typography for Lawyers. The techniques are practical, surprisingly interesting, and occasionally controversial (Is it one or two spaces after a sentence? Is Courier a good choice?).

If you are representing yourself in a civil case before the Superior Court, this class is designed to guide you through the basics of trial preparation, so that you can be prepared for your day in court. From beginning your case with trial in mind, to creating a discovery plan, to the basics of conducting a trial, this introductory level course is designed to set you on the path to an effective trial or a better settlement. This course is intended for self-represented litigants, and is not offered for MCLE credit.
