The California Judicial Council's website http://courts.ca.gov/opinions.htm offers slip opinions for the last 120 days as well as a link to a free, searchable database of California Case Law from 1850 – present, offered by LexisNexis. Cases can be retrieved by party name or citation, or searched by keyword.
Another option is Findlaw http://california.lp.findlaw.com/ca02_caselaw/index.html. Though free, the site requires registration. Cases from 1934 – present can be searched by keyword or party name, or retrieved by citation.
