Family Law Facilitator

Monday - Thursday 8:30 am – 4:00 pm
Services provided: Walk-in services. General information and help filling out the correct forms to modify or establish Child Custody and Visitation, Child and Spousal Support, Parentage, Divorce, Legal Separation and Annulment, Guardianship, and Fee Waiver Application. Priority is given to cases where children are involved.
Eligibility: People who are not represented by an attorney. Walk in service only. No telephone assistance is available.
The Family Law Facilitator provides the following workshops. Unless otherwise noted, workshops require an appointment. Appointments may be made in person Monday - Thursday 8:30 am – 4:00 pm.
Parentage Workshop (UPA)
This workshop is for parents who are not married to the other parent and wish to start a case for custody, visitation, or child support.
Dissolution/Nullity/Legal Separation Workshop
This workshop is for married persons who want a divorce, legal separation, or annulment. This workshop is used to start a case for custody, visitation, child support, spousal support, and property division.
Default Workshop
This workshop is for parties who have filed a family law case in the Sacramento Superior Court, and at least thirty (30) days have passed since the other party was served and no Response has been filed.
Order to Show Cause Workshop
This workshop is for parties who have a case in Sacramento County and want to request a hearing.
Income & Expense Declaration Workshop
Wednesday and Thursday at 8:30 am
(no appointment necessary)
This workshop helps customers complete the Income and Expense Declaration or Financial Disclosures forms. Arrive early and bring a blue or black pen, W-2's for the previous year, paystubs for the past two months and a calculator (not a cellular telephone). Space is limited and the workshop is offered on a first come-first served basis only.
Guardianship Workshop
This workshop helps persons who wish to obtain custody of a minor other than their own child.
