"Lawyers in the Library" offers free 20-minute consultations at the Sacramento County Public Law Library every Monday night.

Registration for the program begins at 6:00 p.m. Three appointments will be given out by lottery at 6:00 p.m. sharp. The appointments take place between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m.

The "Lawyers in the Library" program is ideal for those who have a legal issue they might not be able to receive help with at the Sacramento County Public Law Library's Civil Self Help Center, or for those who work or have other obligations during the day.

The aim of "Lawyers in the Law Library" is to contribute to the Sacramento legal community's effort to help people who cannot afford private legal services by coordinating and facilitating brief access to advice and referral from local attorneys serving pro bono. Because the library's mission is to connect people with legal information, we view this program as helping to forge another connection between the private bar and the people who are least likely to find any other opportunity for twenty minutes of professional attention and consideration.
